What is best to drink when losing weight from alcoholic beverages? It is possible to drink and lose weight at the same time

what alcohol can you drink while losing weight

The fashion for a slim and fit figure does its job: we all follow diets from time to time.

But some holidays can wipe out your efforts and the reason is alcohol consumption.

How does alcohol affect weight loss

The most important negative effect is dehydration. In this case the cells lose not only water, but also the minerals and trace elements that we need, which play an important role in metabolism and, therefore, in weight loss or gain.

Under the influence of alcohol, a person easily breaks the prohibitions, eats much more than he intended and more satisfying dishes. As a product, alcohol has no nutritional value, our body will consume calories in the first place, but everything else received with it will be put aside.

Alcohol has been shown to lower testosterone levels and impair digestion, which also leads to weight gain in exchange for desired weight loss.

What kind of alcohol does not interfere much with the diet

Obviously, sweet liqueurs are very high in calories and should not be allowed on a diet. Ethyl alcohol itself has 710 kcal per 100 grams, which means that all alcohol is also high in calories.

Foods excluded from the diet include all sweet, semi-sweet and fortified wines, champagnes, liqueurs and Cahors. It is better not to consume beer at all during weight loss: despite its low nutritional value, it contains phytoestrogens, slows down the metabolism and promotes the growth of adipose tissue in the body.

It is allowed to drink one or two glasses of dry wine, about 150-200 ml in volume. The wine can be red or white, depending on your preferences, with an alcohol content of 7-11%.

What to eat alcohol while on a diet

If you are watching your weight, choose a snack:

  • low-fat cheese;
  • baked or boiled chicken, turkey, beef, veal;
  • baked, steamed or boiled vegetables;
  • fish (except fried and smoked);
  • lemon.

To reduce the overall harm from exposure to alcohol, the most important thing is not to abuse it, not to drink too much. Try to refrain from strong, sugary alcoholic beverages.

If you are attending a party, eat foods that contain protein.
